Head of Womens and Girls Pathway statement – Jon Dyson
You may be aware from recent publicity releases that Derbyshire CCC have been awarded Tier 2 status in the Women’s game. This is an exciting time for young players entering the Pathway, for both boys and girls and as such allows us an opportunity to make some adjustments to the opportunities we can provide players in our trial environments. It also maintains our commitment to the EDI recommendations set out by ECB to reduce or remove barriers to inclusion, making the game more accessible to all.
Our open trials last year were a start on this journey and we therefore intend to widen this further by welcoming video based submissions from individuals, we will of course still welcome submissions from Club coaches and schools via this platform also.
Further details will follow regarding guidelines for video footage ie. quantity, angles etc. This can be game based or net practice and would capture the players primary skill set, plus fielding. The videos can then be submitted via our dedicated trial email address.
Anyone experiencing difficulty in recording footage through either lack of facilities or equipment can contact me directly to attend a ‘mop up’ session during September.
Please note…Any player currently within the Derbyshire Girls Pathway will not be required to submit footage, they will be contacted by the DCF to attend observations at Stage II in October or in the case of Core players, transfer through to winter training.
As stated, video guidelines, data protection and submission details will follow over the next few weeks. It is our intention to view the footage through September following which successful trialists will be invited to Stage II. All nominations will be viewed however it may not be possible to offer direct feedback for unsuccessful submissions.
