Super 1s

Super 1s is a cricket programme for young people with a disability aged 12-25 the chance to have fun, play regular and competitive cricket funded by the Lord Taverners.

These sessions aren’t just cricket we also look at working on personal development such as when we ran a baking session for the children to take part it. Personal development is a key part of the programme especially the social and fun aspect of the Super1s.

How does it help young people?

  • Improves participants physical and mental well-being.
  • Combats loneliness by taking part in regular competitive sport.
  • Gives a sense of belonging as they make friends and gain skills for life such as confidence and independence.
  • Engagement in a variety of workshops allows crucial life-skills to be learnt.

These sessions are run every week during school term times and also some holiday sessions where we might do other activities alongside cricket.
