DCF Staff take on the Sherwin Young Adults Street Hub for the 2nd year!
This year saw the return of the DCF Staff Vs Sherwin Street game after the success of last year where the 3-game series saw the DCF staff come out 2-1 victors. This year the participants from Sherwin wanted another go at showcasing their tape ball skills in a rematch.
The Sherwin Young Adults Street Project as a result, has seen an increase in participant numbers following the event last year and it was great to see participants who couldn’t take part in the event still come along and support their fellow hub participants.
The event saw several new players take part on both teams, including Derbyshire CCC’s Club Captain David Lloyd who supported the event by lining up alongside the DCF Staff. Watch the video below to hear David’s thoughts on the event and the importance of street cricket here in Derbyshire:

“Tonight was a really fantastic set of competitive and enjoyable games. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and showed the strong community spirit that we have here in the City of Derby. It’s great to see how the participants from the Sherwin Street project have improved and developed their skills over the past year so credit goes to them and the coaches who run the session.”

“After missing out on last years event, it was brilliant to go along and watch the great standard of cricket on show. Everyone was super competitive and really wanted to get those wins for their teams, which has made for some great content that we can’t wait to share more of. The Sherwin team exacted their revenge this year and won the best of three 2-1. With both sides having won one each over the years, It certainly begs the question of when is the next set of games?!
The DCF have plenty of opportunities to get involved in Street cricket with projects across the City and North Derbyshire.
