Falcons Classroom Cricket Launches!

Derbyshire Cricket Foundation is inviting your school to come and take part in our exclusive Falcons Classroom Cricket offer.

In summer term two, teachers and students in school years 4, 5, and 6 can come and experience the magic of learning from an alternative perspective. We promise a school day jam-packed full of fun and exciting educational and physical activities, that will take place right in the centre of Derbyshire’s County Cricket Ground. It’s a day out not to be missed!

We believe that sport is an extremely useful tool in supporting learning and can offer a wide range of benefits, especially when delivered in a fun, inclusive, and stimulating environment. That’s why we believe that cricket is a game for everyone and so have used these key themes to inspire our interactive activities.

Healthy Eating

Roll up your sleeves, wash your hands whilst we cook up a storm in the kitchen, and make some super healthy snacks.  We’ll be understanding the term ‘healthy eating’, why it’s important, and how we can take positive steps to adopt this in our everyday life.

Sustainable Living

We’ll be getting our hands dirty when we get to work in our community allotment, yes that’s right our own allotment situated on the ground itself. Students can explore the variety of different fruits and vegetables growing, they can even make their own plant pot and sew their own sunflower seeds to take home with them.

Disability Awareness Sessions

We’ve invited our disability officer, Jess Bakewell, to come and deliver some visually impaired cricket using some specifically designed equipment so that students can experience the game from a different perspective.

Cricket Sessions

We’ll finish the day off by taking part in some cricket skills and drills. There might even be the opportunity, if we have enough time, to meet some of the players and take a tour of the ground.

Cost of the Day

The cost to attend the classroom cricket day is priced at £150 based on a maximum of 30 children. On booking, an invoice will be issued for prompt payment. Arrival from 9:30am for 10:00am (start) till 2:30pm. Children will be required to provide their own lunch.
