This year sees a change to our previous trial systems which now encourages open registrations from anyone exhibiting the potential to bat, bowl or keep wicket in the U11 – U18 age groups. This allows us the opportunity to process an unfiltered approach to observing players on multiple occasions with multiple eyes, removing potential biases and supporting best practice around talent identification processes.
We are aware the first entry points into our Player Pathway are vital in terms of talent identification. These need to be wide, varied and rich in potential in order for it to become the talent pool that future County sides and Regional Academies subsequently select from.
