For those that don’t know we have run Women’s Softball festivals for the last 6 years with huge success, in 2023 we engaged over 625 women in the game. 30% of which had their first experience of cricket and more than half of all participants were aged 41+.
The 48 clubs that got involved have found it to be hugely beneficial for the club. Softball Cricket is about:
- No pads, no hard ball, no heavy bat, no complicated rules.
- It’s a game for absolutely everybody, no matter your skill level, fitness, or age.
- It’s only 8-a-side, so getting a side out shouldn’t be too difficult.
- Perfect for players who have never played before!
- E.g. Female members, partners, daughters, mum’s, aunties and more!
- Not too serious!
Those clubs who run a Women’s Softball team are seeing lots of enjoyment from their players, we have fantastic feedback on our festivals every year!
As well as this, clubs are seeing huge secondary benefits such as extra membership revenue, an increased sense of family and club cohesion, extra volunteers and helping to diversify club committees!
Before we can arrange venues for the festivals, we’d like to map the demand across the county. To do this we need to find out which clubs are, and which clubs are not interested. Whether your club has took part in the programme in previous years or this would be the first time, it doesn’t matter!
