Reward and Recognition 2024

We are pleased to be able to launch our Grassroots Cricket Collective Awards that celebrate our volunteer superstars.

Nominations are now open!

We know there are lots of worthy nominations at every club in Derbyshire!

This year there are 15 award categories that will allow us to recognise and reward those in your clubs that have made an outstanding contribution to cricket this year, be it a young volunteer who has gone over and above or a club that has excelled in opening up the game to a brand-new audience this summer. There are 2 new categories for 2024, Outstanding Contribution- Services to Coaching and The Metro Bank Champion of Girls Cricket.

The list of categories is below:

Categories

1) Connecting Communities – A club or community organisation which has gone above and beyond to #raisethegame and support communities/groups

2) Inspired to play – An individual or group within your club or community organisation going above and beyond to #raisethegame and open the game up to new audiences

3) Rising Star Award – Young volunteer making a difference – 11 – 16-year-olds

4) Game changer – Young volunteer 17 – 25-year-olds making a difference in the game.

5) Unsung hero – Those heroes who impact our game from behind-the-scenes and help us make cricket happen

6) Growing the game – A league volunteer, committee member, or administrator going above and beyond to support clubs and help increase the number of games played.

7) Cricket Innovators – Someone who has brought new ideas and/or implemented new systems to improve your club or community group

8) Lifetime achiever – That one individual who has given many years of service to your club or community group you could not do without.

9) SafeHands Award – An individual that has gone above and beyond to create a positive and inclusive environment for young people to enjoy the game

10) Tackling Climate Change – A club or community organisation that is addressing the threat climate change poses to cricket, by making sustainable changes to operations, adapting their facilities and/or engaging and educating their local community

11) Volunteer Grounds Management Team of the Year – An opportunity to reward and recognise those volunteers who are working hard and improving the places where the game is played

12) Young Coach of the Year – A young person who is already making a difference and is already passing on their enthusiasm for the game and inspiring the next generation of players.

13) Coach of the Year – A coach who goes the extra mile and is a true coaching hero to their club, league, county or school. They are creative and work with players to help them reach their full potential whilst delivering active and fun sessions.

14) Outstanding Contribution- Services to Coaching- This person is the life and soul at your club, in your league, your county or at your school, coaching and making a difference to players

15) The Metro Bank Champion of Girls Cricket- A volunteer, coach or role model who has championed growing girls’ cricket at their club.
