We welcome submissions by video showing examples of batting, bowling and wicket keeping skills in the following age groups…U11, U13, U15 and U18 (School years 5 – 13). Submissions can be made by either club coaches, teachers, parents/guardians.
The video must not exceed 6 minutes in length and give a clear view of the players primary skill only. If possible please try and show both front on and side on views. The footage can be sent to girlspathwayobservations@dcfcricket.com
For batters please evidence a selection of both front foot and back foot shots showing intent to strike. For bowlers evidence of pace, swing or spin would be beneficial as well as run up/approach (this does not require a batter). Wicket keepers should evidence standing both up to the stumps and standing back. All-rounders (definition of being selected on multiple skills can submit 2 videos showcasing each discipline). Net based environments are suitable and allow for maximizing the number of deliveries you can capture within your 6 minutes. Audio is not required on the footage.
The cut off date for video submissions is Monday 30th September 2024. You will receive an automated email confirming receipt however please do not contact us regarding outcomes.
The footage will be viewed and assessed by the Head of Women and Girls Pathway and/or a specialist coach who will look for both existing and future potential in each technical skill set. Successful applicants will be invited to a series of face to face group observation sessions at Derbyshire County Cricket Club for Stage II observations. Feedback currently will not be given to unsuccessful submissions.
In the subject bar of your email please state the players name and age group for 2025. Please also complete the data collection form and upload along with your footage, which can be found HERE.
Submitted data/video will be safely held on password protected systems with Derbyshire Cricket Foundation
