In September the DCF created a survey for all open age cricketers to fill in across Derbyshire.
We decided that this was a good idea after what has been a very different and challenging season for leagues, clubs and players.
Many leagues across Derbyshire were forced to modify their offer in light of the COVID-19 pandemic
As a result we saw this as a potential opportunity for leagues to re-assess and re-shape their offers based on learnings from the 2020 season.
The survey covered a number of areas, including gauging the opinion of players on what they thought of some of this years changes, as well as what they think of some other current hot topics within open age cricket.
Questions and preferences were asked around the following topics:
- Win/Lose Cricket
- Number of overs in an innings
- Percentage of the innings that a bowler is allowed to bowl (Max overs per bowler)
- Start times
- Development/ Friendly offers
- Number of games in a season
- Cricket teas
- More
We had well over 1000 responses to the survey from a good mix of age groups and clubs. We will be sharing this data in more detail with all DCF affiliated leagues.
