Every year, Chesterfield CC would usually hold a Mince Pie and Mulled Wine Day at Queen’s Park during December. This is used as a perfect time for members and friends to exchange Christmas cards during the festive period.
With this not being possible this year due to government guidelines, it provided an opportunity to do something different!
On the 26th of November, the club set up a Just Giving page for members and anyone else related to the club to donate their Christmas card money to Ashgate Hospice. The target was set at £500, which was reached by the 3rd of December!
By the 12th of December they the club had raised £715 taking them over their target, and provides good support for Ashgate Hospice after many canceled fundraising events across the year!
