Played county cricket for 10 years (from 1992-2002), firstly with Derbyshire CCC (1992-1999) and then Northamptonshire CCC (2000-2002). I made 101 first-class appearances for Derbyshire, scoring more than 5000 runs at an average of 35+ with a highest score of 210. My first double hundred for DCCC (200* vs Gloucestershire CCC in 1995) remains the longest ever first-class innings in the club’s history.
After my cricket career ended through injury, I went into Education. I am in my 20th year in Education, having trained as a secondary mathematics teacher. I have taught in Luton, Northampton, London, Derby and I am currently Deputy Head of School at a secondary school in Nottingham.
I want to give back to the club that gave me the opportunity to be a professional cricketer. I have lived back in the region for nearly 10 years and feel it is time for me to make a contribution to the development of this great game at the club that I love.
