Women’s softball festivals have continued to grow across Derbyshire over the past couple of years, to the point where the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation delivered 28 festivals in 2024!
This summer plans are in place to deliver a similar number of festivals, introducing new teams to the format.
Soft Ball Cricket is about getting out and playing, maximum fun, minimum fuss. No pads, no hardball, no heavy bat, no head-scratching rules. It’s a game for absolutely everybody, no matter your skill level, fitness, or age. Playing time at Festivals is usually about two to four hours and full of action!
Derbyshire Cricket Foundation are extremely grateful for the support of Emprise Teamwear as they sponsor the Women’s Softball 2025 & 2026 festivals. The support has a direct impact on the work of the Foundation to offer more opportunities for women across the county to get involved in cricket, and to continue growing this ever-popular format of the game.
The 2024 softball cricket festivals saw over 600 women compete across the 28 festivals delivered across the county. With planning well underway for the 2025 season, the aim is to run a similar number of festivals, including a landmark festival to round off the summer held at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground.
