The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation is excited to announce that we are welcoming back our very popular Falcons Classroom Cricket programme with lots of new additions for 2025.
After selling out all dates for 2024, we are pleased to offer the project again this year.
Teachers and students will have the opportunity to come and experience the magic of learning from an alternative perspective. We promise a school day jam-packed full of fun and exciting educational and physical activities, held at Derbyshire’s County Cricket Ground. It is a day out not to be missed.
We believe Cricket is a game for everyone and that sport is an extremely powerful tool in supporting learning for children, especially when delivered in a fun, inclusive, and stimulating environment. We have created a fun, educational, and interactive day out.
Here are some of the great activities to expect on your visit to the County Ground:
Welcome and Tour of the Ground
Being at such an iconic Derbyshire sporting facility means that no day at the county ground would be complete without a behind-the-scenes tour exploring the usually off-limits areas of this elite athletic facility, including the player dressing rooms, training centre, media room and more.
Healthy Living
The themes of Health and wellness are a big part of our day, and there will be interactive workshops delivered on how we can live healthy lives.
Physical Activity Sessions
During the day, students will get involved in physical activity sessions run by our Derbyshire Cricket Foundation coaches. These sessions will vary, so if your school returns for another visit, you will get a different experience. These sessions will focus on developing personal development skills, teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
Sports Media
New for 2025, we will be taking a fun and interactive look at the world of sports media and what goes into broadcasting this great sport to the world, including TV, radio and written journalism.
Cost of the Day
We have purposely kept the cost of the day low to accommodate schools having to arrange transport, which we know can be expensive.
The Total cost of the classroom cricket day is £150 based on a maximum of 30 children. Arrival is at 9:30 a.m. for the first activity, which starts at 9:45, and the day finishes at 2:20 p.m., allowing for return to school.
Children will be required to bring their own lunch.
There are a limited number of dates, so it will be first come, first served.
