Falcons Classroom Cricket

Derbyshire Cricket Foundation is inviting your school to come and take part in our exclusive Falcons Classroom Cricket offer.

In the autumn term, teachers and students can come and experience the magic of learning from an alternative perspective. We promise a school day jam-packed full of fun and exciting educational and physical activities, that will take place right in the centre of Derbyshire’s Incora County Cricket Ground. It’s a day out not to be missed!

We believe Cricket is a game for everyone and that sport is an extremely powerful tool in supporting learning for children, especially when delivered in a fun, inclusive, and stimulating environment. From this, we have created a fun, educational, and interactive day out, which is detailed below.

Tour of the Ground and Introduction

We will start the day with a tour around the ground, exploring the elite athlete’s facilities, the media centre, and playing field. We will then finish off the introduction to Cricket with a fun and engaging explanation of what the sport is.

Healthy Living

An hour of the day will be an interactive workshop on how we can be living healthy lives delivered by our partner Nuffield Health. This session will also include physical activity that they can do at home.

Cricket Sessions

We will be getting stuck into the sport by taking part in some cricket skills and drills delivered by our Derbyshire Cricket Foundation coaches. A chance to play in the same place as the professional Derbyshire team!

Disability Awareness Sessions

We’ve invited our disability officer, Jess Bakewell to come and deliver some visually impaired cricket using some specifically designed equipment so students can experience the game from a different perspective.

Meet the professionals

To finish off the day, we hope to get a visit from one of our professional Derbyshire players to talk to the students about what it is like to be an elite athlete and open the floor to any questions.

Cost of the Day

The cost to attend the classroom cricket day is priced at £150 based on a maximum of 30 children. On booking an invoice will be issued for prompt payment. Arrival for 9:30am for the first activity to start at 9:45 and finishing the day at 2:30pm. Children will be required to bring their own lunch. There are certain amount of dates so it will be first come first served.
