The ECB has identified five steps for the proposed phased return of the recreational game in England this summer

ECB RETURN TO ACTIVITY IN A CRICKET CLUB SETTING – UPDATED GUIDANCE

The purpose of these guidelines is to offer practical guidance to players and clubs on the steps they should take whilst undertaking recreational cricket activity and informal cricket activity in an outdoor environment given the current restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The key update in the guidance is the allowance of small group sizes (now up to six individuals), however a number of other subtle but important changes are listed throughout the document.

Darley Dale Cricket Club are running a great initiative, not only to help their club during this difficult period of no revenue or cricket being played, they are also supporting 2 local charities. CRICKET FAMILY IS ‘TOGETHER THROUGH THIS TEST’ DURING LOCKDOWN

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has today launched ‘Together Through This Test’, a nationwide campaign shining a light on the work undertaken by the game in response to COVID-19 and highlighting the resources available to the public.

ECB guidelines for the use of outdoor cricket facilities in lockdown

The ECB have developed guidelines to offer practical guidance to players and clubs on the steps they should take to remain safe whilst undertaking exercise in an outdoor cricket club environment. ECB is clear that outdoor facilities should only reopen if those responsible for them are ready to do so and they can do so safely, following public health guidance: no club should reopen their outdoor facilities if they feel unable to meet the requirements.

Sandiacre Town CC raising money in aid of national charity ‘Mind’

Throughout May, Sandiacre Town CC are running a “Virtual Lap” around all 18 the professional cricket grounds in England and Wales! While the club are unable to take to the field due to the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions, they wanted to do their bit in the community, during a time when people need help more than ever!
